In October 2003, Inter-Access’ client, the Ministry of Informatics and Telecommunications of Hungary, established HTEC, a consulting practice and incubator facility for Hungarian technology companies. Headquartered in Vienna, VA, HTEC’s mission is to help Hungarian IT companies access US markets and attract their American counterparts to Hungary. The HTEC-project is currently supervised by the Investment and Trade Promotion Agency (ITDH), which reports to the Ministry of Economics and Transportation of Hungary. Through this relationship, HTEC’s mandate has been extended to cover nano- and biotechnology related businesses. Inter-Access, the winner of the EU public procurement tender, has operated HTEC since early 2007, under contract with ITDH. We manage the day-to-day activities of HTEC (at present: InnoHUngary) with an administrative staff and independent consultants, and continue to provide incubator facilities for selected companies. Inter-Access works in close cooperation with the Fairfax County Development Authority (FCEDA) as the operator of HTEC. Inter-Access also has significant relationships in the greater Washington area business community and has assisted a number of Fortune 500 companies (including Tenneco, Duke Energy ExxonMobil) with their Central European operations. We advised clients in major privatization projects, mergers and acquisitions, and negotiations with governments and regulatory agencies in the region. The President of Inter-Access was Chairman and has been a Member of the Board the Deutsche Telekom (and until 1999 SBC) owned Hungarian Telekom and member of the Board of Slager Radio, owned by the Indiana based EMMIS Communications. |
